EMI and Coil Winding Orientation – different ways to mount a coil to minimise both magnetic and electric field interference

Coilcraft is a leader in providing inductive components for power supplies and filtering. Their technical talk is on a topic many may overlook. That is how the physical mounting and assembly of coils will influence interference, and how such interference can be reduced.

Børge Strand-Bergesen, Henry Audio:

Two-layer layout - how it is implemented in the Henry Audio USB DAC

Henry Audio has sold more than 1500 audio USB DACs. The main challenge is to both keep the cost down and maintain signal and power integrity from the deepest audio frequency to the highest switching frequency. Børge will talk specifically on how the 2-layer PCB design was done and his preferred grounding technique for semi-large boards - Mickey Mouse grounding, a hybrid between ground plane and star.

High Speed SerDes Buses - Design and simulation beyond 10 G bit/s

This presentation will show challenges with design of SerDes buses beyond 10 G bit/s. HyperLynx pre layout simulations will be shown for some cases. A design and simulation method to verify the design pre and post layout will be discussed.
